New Music in Leeds

All progress with this project is postponed for the foreseeable future due to COVID-19 and non-availability of funding. If you are interested in similar opportunities as a composer or performer, I would recommend to visit The Arc Project website and very shortly the composerperformer website (currently under development).

Thanks for visiting this page – this has been set up for all those interested in finding out more, keeping updated or wanting to take part in the new music series in Leeds in 2020. You can enter your email in the box below or contact me directly at jamesbanner [at] hotmail.co.uk or on Twitter @jbannermusic with any comments, ideas or suggestions! The aim is to set up a quarterly live music event which provides a platform for composers to work with and compose for an ensemble of musicians, receiving an AV recording and live performance of a new work for their portfolio. Additionally there will be calls for ensembles and individual performers to take part as commissioned ensembles and work with the composers throughout the programme.

The focus is on an easily accessible application process and representing the diversity found in composers and ensembles across the UK, especially providing those without their own promotional materials with something they can use for future artistic and developmental opportunities, helping their career progression.

I am looking for composers, ensembles (all genres), performers (all instruments), individuals to form listening/feedback panels, music collectives/organisations interested in collaborating/sharing/promoting, those who can provide insight into diversity and accessibility best practise.
